HOME >> BRIDAL SHOWERS >> "DRESSING THE BRIDE" BRIDAL SHOWER GAMES "Dressing The Bride" Bridal Shower GamesThese mostly call for a bride (and/or guests) with a good sense of humor, and they can be hilarious! Make sure someone has a camera handy for these bridal shower games. Designing the Wedding Dress GameSupplies: Rolls of white toilet paper (quantity will depend on the number of guests), bridal shower game prizes for guests Break the guests up into groups of 3 to 5 people each (the bride will be a spectator). You can either assign or have each group choose one group member to be the “model.” Give rolls of toilet paper to each group, ideally one roll for each person that isn’t the model, and have them design a wedding dress made of toilet paper on their model. They can include any accessories they like, such as the veil and bouquet – but everything must be made of toilet paper. You can set a timer, or just use your judgement depending on how much fun they’re having. When everyone is done, the bride has to pick out the “wedding dress” of her choice. The members of the group who designed the winning dress all get prizes.
Bridal Makeover GameThis can be hilarious, but be SURE the bride won’t mind before springing it on her! Supplies: Blindfold for volunteers; cheap cosmetics – try to find some inexpensive makeup at a dollar or discount store. Lots of colors are best, and the more garish the better! Include eye shadow, blushers, lipsticks, and SOFT sponge applicators for them. Be careful not to include any applicators that could be poked into the eye! Have the bride sit at the front of the room with the cosmetics handy. Ask for several guests to volunteer to be makeup artists. Have each volunteer choose a cosmetic. Blindfold one volunteer at a time and have her apply her cosmetic to the bride. Be sure to capture before and after pictures with a camera! What to Wear in the Kitchen GameThis is great if your bridal shower has a kitchen theme already. Supplies: You can purchase, or ask guests to bring as gifts, a variety of kitchen utensils that might commonly be found in kitchen drawers – nothing heavy or sharp! At the bridal shower, attach a ribbon to each utensil, and let each guest “decorate” the bride by attaching one – (think of decorating a Christmas tree). The bride can model her “kitchen outfit” when it’s completed – and be sure to get a pictue! Wedding Wardrobe GameSupplies: Blindfold, oven mitts, an assortment of oversized clothing (may be donated by guests or purchased at a local charity thrift shop - donating the clothing back to a charity thrift shop can give them yet another life), a bag to hold the clothing. Some ideas for the clothing include:
Have the bride seated in the front or center of the room. Put a blindfold on her and oven mitts on her hands. Present the bag of clothing to her, and have her select one item at a time (she might need a helper to untangle the clothing items and straighten them out). As she pulls each item from the bag, the bride has to guess what it is and then put it on over her clothes. She continues until she's wearing everything that was in the bag. Then grab the camera - unless you're lucky enough to have been taping the whole game!
